Police Chase Ends in an Accident in Fayette County
COWETA COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news report published on fox5atlanta.com states that two individuals were arrested and taken into custody following a police chase.*
The chase ended in a motor vehicle accident in Fayette County, Georgia. The incident started when a KFC restaurant phoned 911 about a fight occurring in their restaurant. The Coweta County Sheriff's Office reported to the news agency that one of its Sheriff's deputies saw a vehicle that matched the description provided by one of the people involved in the incident. The deputy attempted to pull the driver over, but the driver refused to stop, and a police chase then happened. The driver ended up wrecking at around 4:45 PM at the intersection of Fischer Road and Highway 34.
According to the report, there were three motor vehicles involved in the accident. All of the motor vehicles ended up in the highway's median. It has been reported that the cause of the accident is currently under investigation. It is not immediately clear who was or was not injured in the motor vehicle accident.
Coweta County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that two people were taken into police custody. According to the Atlanta Police Department, investigators said one of those involved had an outstanding arrest warrant. Their identities were not released at this time. A Coweta County deputy SUV sustained frontend damage during the crash. A black SUV also sustained damage to the front and rear on the driver's side. A brown minivan sustained front-end damage.
