Marietta Man Tragically Killed in a Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash Caused By a Drunk Driver

The victim tragically died a few days after being struck by a car while walking. The driver in the collision left the scene of the crash and is believed to have been driving while intoxicated.
The driver collided with the 53-year-old victim just over a week ago. He tragically passed away from his pedestrian crash-related injuries on Monday. The news report states that the pedestrian collision occurred at Wright and Trammell Streets.

The driver was arrested a few days after the collision. Police accuse the driver of running over the victim and fleeing the scene. Investigators stated that the driver admitted to drinking alcohol prior to getting behind the wheel of his motor vehicle. Police also reported that the driver admitted that he had hit something.
Neighbors said that the victim was a very well-known person in the community, and many people adored him. Law enforcement officers say that he showed up at nearly every council meeting, and everyone is saddened by his death. The victim is remembered for being a very active Mariettian who followed Marietta school sports. He would use his walker and navigate even though he had disabilities. He was also involved in his church.
