Teen Boy Tragically Killed in a Quarry Accident in Georgia

GEORGIA - According to an accident news report published on yahoo.com, a 16-year-old boy was tragically killed in an accident at a local rock quarry in Georgia.*

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office reported that Sheriff's deputies were called to a rock quarry at approximately 1:12 in the afternoon. When the deputies arrived, they discovered a 16-year-old boy who was pinned under a piece of machinery.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that it seemed the machinery was in operation when it rolled over and on top of the teenager. The victim's identity was publically released by the Jackson County Coroner's Office. The victim's mother stated that her son was a hard worker at an excavating company for the summer. He was a special son who worked to help provide his mother with a better life. The young man was known to give and not ask for anything in return. According to the victim's mother, this accident is a "mama's worst nightmare."

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office stated that OHSA was called in to investigate the workplace accident. The workplace accident investigation is currently ongoing.
