Trucker Rescued for Tractor-Trailer Truck That Crashed Off of a Georgia Highway

GILMER COUNTY, GEORGIA - An accident news article posted on WSBTV.com reports that a truck driver was rescued by emergency crews after his tractor-trailer truck left a highway and crashed.*

The Gilmer County Sheriff's Office reported that their deputies responded to a truck accident on Highway 136, close to the Pickens County line. The news report states that the tractor-trailer truck left the highway and rolled down an embankment before crashing on its side.

Gilmer County Sheriff's deputies reported that the truck driver was pinned inside the truck. However, rescue crews successfully saved him. The driver did not sustain any life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local area hospital by a helicopter following the accident. What caused the severe truck accident is currently under investigation.
