Two Injured in a Gun Accident at Georgia's Law Enforcement Academy in Monroe County
GEORGIA - According to an online news article published on macon.com, a law enforcement academy instructor and a trainee were wounded in a shooting incident at Georgia's Law Enforcement Academy.*
Law enforcement officials reported that the possible firearms-training incident transpired last Monday at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth County. Fortunately, the incident report states that the two gunshot victims' wounds are non-life-threatening. The two victims were transported by ambulance to a local Macon hospital for emergency medical treatment.
The incident occurred last Monday afternoon, and additional information has not been made available.
Law enforcement officials knowledgeable about the shooting incident state that a bullet fired from one gun during firearms training hit an Atlanta Police officer's calf, and struck another bullet struck an instructor's foot. Georgia's Law Enforcement Academy training center, where the shooting incident transpired, is located off of Interstate 75 in Monroe County and is the training center where most of Georgia's law enforcement officers are trained.
