Roswell Woman Tragically Killed in a Polk County Skydiving Accident

POLK COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an online accident news article published on 11Alive.com, a 26-year-old Roswell woman was tragically killed in a skydiving accident last Sunday.*

According to the Polk County Coroner, the tragic incident occurred last Sunday afternoon close to the Polk County Airport. The skydiving accident transpired at about 4 PM, a  Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson stated. The incident occurred close to the Polk County Airport at Cornelius Moore Field. 

The news report states that the Polk County Airport's website lists two skydiving businesses based at the airport. The Polk County Coroner's office decided not to publish the victim's name at this time. 

FAA Investigators are looking into the skydiving accident to find out how the accident transpired. The FAA spokesperson stated that the FAA investigates skydiving accidents by focusing on inspecting the reserve parachute, packing of the parachute, and rules of flight for both the aircraft and pilot. The Cedartown Police Department is also assisting in the skydiving accident investigation. No additional information has been provided at this time.
