Fatal Pedestrian Collision on I-285 Southbound in Atlanta, Georgia
ATLANTA, GEORGIA - According to an article published on 11alive.com, a pedestrian-vehicle crash caused a significant traffic jam on I-285 Southbound.*
Atlanta Police stated that the pedestrian was tragically struck by several motor vehicles. The Atlanta Police stated that their officers were called out to the interstate accident scene that was located at Campbellton Road SW. The crash occurred at approximately 1:10 in the afternoon. The victim was found unconscious and was transported to a local area hospital, where he was tragically declared deceased.
Immediately after the pedestrian crash, the Georgia Department of Transportation's traffic cameras showed two of four traffic lanes were blocked as first responders at the accident scene. Law enforcement officials stated that all motorists heading southbound should take detours and avoid the "extreme delays." All traffic lanes were eventually cleared, and traffic was able to resume.
