May 16, 2022

MACON, GEORGIA - According to an article published on, people and workers are raising concerns about the working conditions at the South Bibb Tractor Supply Distribution Center.*

Several people have expressed concerns over the working conditions at the distribution center while a federal agency investigates how a Tractor Supply employee was killed, on the job, at the South Bibb Tractor Supply Distribution Center.

The first responders arrived to find a worker pinned between a forklift and a gun safe. Law enforcement authorities reported that they found a 55-year-old victim dead at the scene.

The news reporters with 13WMAZ interviewed a former employee who stated that they felt the worker's death was preventable.

The concerns raised include poor staffing, poor training, and general lax training at the tractor supply Macon distribution center. One former employee at the distribution center stated that he had worked at Tractor Supply for around three months but was laid off in 2014. He claims that the working environment was always rushed as what is expected at a busy distribution center. However, he stated that safety training "slipped through the cracks." The former employee also stated that there was high employee turnover that forced the company to constantly train new workers.

OSHA is currently investigating the fatal forklift accident. Tractor Supply stated that they are cooperating with the investigation, and safety is their number one priority.
