Chattooga County Car Accident Tragically Kills Two People

According to an online accident news report published on, two people were tragically killed in a car accident west of the Trion High School.*

Chattooga County Coroner Earl Rainwater identified the two fatal auto accident victims as a  25-year-old from LaFayette and a 41-year-old man from Summerville. Our firm does not release the names of accident victims to protect the privacy of the victims and their families. 

According to an updated accident report from the Georgia State Patrol, a couple from Ooltewah, Tennessee, was severely injured in the accident. They were identified as a 70-year-old man and his 71-year-old wife. The Georgia State Patrol Post 38 troopers states that 

their troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident on Trion-Teloga Road just east of Bankey Farm Road in Chattooga County at around noon. 

The report states that a Honda Accord was heading eastbound on Trion-Teloga Road and, for some unknown reason, crossed the road's centerline, hitting a Chevrolet 2500 pickup. The Chevrolet 2500 pickup was heading westbound. After the collision, the pickup truck left the road, went down an embankment, and then overturned. The Honda's female driver and her male passenger were tragically pronounced dead at the accident scene. The pickup truck driver was air evacuated to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattooga where he was listed in critical medical condition. Another passenger in the pickup truck was taken to Atrium Health Floyd in Rome and is in stable medical condition. The fatal motor vehicle accident investigation is under investigation.
