Severe Motor Vehicle Accident in Liberty County, Georgia
GEORGIA - An online accident news report published on wjcl.com states that one person was tragically killed in a serious motor vehicle accident in Liberty County, Georgia.*
The news report states that when Liberty County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the accident scene, they found one vehicle "fully engulfed in flames." The car crash occurred at the 3000 block of Briar Bay Road at around 8 PM.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office reported that a man was heading northbound in a Chevy Caprice. At some point, the man's vehicle ran off the roadway. The passenger-side tires then struck the soft shoulder, and the driver overcorrected the vehicle to prevent an accident. However, the vehicle rotated. The car then crashed into several trees and caught on fire.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office deputies tried to rescue the driver but could not save the driver due to the flames. The Riceboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue extinguished the car fire. Georgia State Patrol troopers are currently investigating the cause of the fatal accident.
