Five People Injured in a Daycare Bus Accident in DeKalb County, Georgia
DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news report published on fox5atlanta.com states that a daycare bus carrying young children was involved in a severe head-on collision.*
The report states that the daycare bus was full of children and involved at least two motor vehicles, police reported. The news report states that the bus accident occurred at Battle Forest Drive and Flat Shoals Road by Flat Shoals Elementary School.
Accident investigators reported that the daycare bus was traveling to Childcare Network Daycare when the head-on collision transpired. A grandmother whose child was involved in the motor vehicle accident stated that she was thankful that her grandson was alright following the severe crash.
Four children ages 5 to 11 sustained accident-related injuries, according to DeKalb Police officers. The other vehicle's driver was transported to a local area hospital for a medical evaluation.
Parents arrived at the scene to pick up their children. One parent stated that she received the emergency phone call shortly when she arrived at her job, and she rushed to the scene to pick up her grandchild.
Emergency first responders uprighted the daycare bus and cleared the accident scene. The other driver received a citation for failure to maintain a lane. The head-on accident is currently under investigation by the DeKalb Police. No additional information has been provided at this time.
