Two People Tragically Killed in a Pedestrian-Car Collision in Cobb County, Georgia
GEORGIA - A news report published on Macon.com states that two motor vehicles tragically struck and killed a mother and her 1-year-old child.*
The fatal crash happened in Cobb County, Georgia, police reported. The small child and her mother were attempting to cross a street when they were struck. The crash transpired at around 9:30 in the evening.
The victim, a 37-year-old woman from Hiram, was traveling east along C.H. James Parkway, west of the parkway's intersection with Oglesby Road. The victim's Nissan Sentra hit another motor vehicle in the left lane, and when she exited her vehicle. She was holding her 1-year-old in her arms and began walking toward Oglesby Road when she was hit by a Chevrolet Blazer that was heading west on C.H. James Parkway. A Ford Taurus that was behind the Chevy Blazer also struck the victim.
The victim and her daughter were transported to a local area hospital, where the victim tragically passed away. Her baby was in critical medical condition until the following day then passed away.
Law enforcement authorities have not criminally charged either driver at this time, and the fatal pedestrian crash is under investigation. No additional details were provided at this time.
