Fatal Boat Accident on the Intracoastal Waterway in Savannah, Georgia

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - An accident news report on wjcl.com states that a man was fatally injured in a boat accident close to the Savannah Yacht Club.*  

According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, their agency is currently investigating the fatal incident. Georgia Department of Natural Resources Game Warden, Barry Britt, stated that there were three men aboard a 28-foot center console boat when the boat struck a marker along the Intracoastal Waterway close by the Savannah Yacht Club. 

The news report states that a 62-year-old Savannah man sustained a severe head injury and tragically died at the accident scene, Warden Britt reported. The other two men aboard the boat were not harmed in the accident. Britt also stated that there was no indication that alcohol, drugs, or speed played a factor in the boating accident.

According to the news article, it's believed that the victim was a passenger and he was not driving the boat at the time of the accident. The three men were on a fishing trip at the time of the accident. The boat crash is currently under investigation. No other details have been provided at this time.
