Metro Atlanta Animal Hospital Struck By a Motor Vehicle
DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an online news report posted on wsbtv.com, Dunwoody Police are currently investigating a serious crash involving a car and a Dunwoody animal hospital.*
The Dunwoody Police responded to a car-building crash on Peeler Road that occurred at approximately 12:30 AM. Dunwoody Police reported that a motor vehicle crashed into the Winters Chapel Animal Hospital in Dunwoody, Georiga. The incident report states that for some unknown reason, a driver lost control of their car, left the roadway, hit a tree, and then crashed in the building.
The 46-year-old driver was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of injuries and is listed in critical medical condition. Accident scene investigators reported that the building sustained substantial damage, but the building's structural integrity seems to be safe.
According to a Channel 2 reporter who visited the animal hospital, there was substantial damage including tire marks, debris spread out over the area, and the car door was completely torn off.
A customer told reporters that she was very surprised to see all of the car damage. She was at the animal hospital to pick up medication for her pet dog. She stated that the road has a dangerous curve in that area. She hopes the community will rally behind the hospital's owners because they are generous and great people.
The crash is currently under investigation by law enforcement. No criminal charges have been reported at this time. The driver's medical condition and the medical condition of others involved in the accident have not been reported.
