GEORGIA - According to an accident story posted on nbcnews.com, the driver of Atlanta "pedal pub" caused an accident resulting in fifteen people being injured.*
The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department reported that two people were seriously injured in the pedal-powered pub vehicle accident. The operator of the Pedal Pub was also cited for a business violation after the Midtown Atlanta accident. Their name was not released.
Under Georgia law, it is unlawful for a driver to operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances. Atlanta Police did not identify what the driver which intoxicant the driver had consumed.
All 15 people riding on the vehicle were injured when the Pedal Pub "tipped over while making a turn," according to Atlanta police. Atlanta Police Officer Steve Avery stated that the pedal pub was attempting to "negotiate a turn, but was moving too fast and turned over." Fifteen patrons were injured and transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. Two riders sustained critical accident injuries, and three other people were examined for serious injuries. No additional vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 6:30 PM.
