Tragic Fatal Bicyclist Accident on Route 66 in Illinois

According to an online accident news report published on, a man from Peoria Heights was tragically killed after he was struck by a car.*

The bicycle accident occurred along Route 66 at 2250th Street in Logan County, Illinois. The 56-year-old cyclist was struck by a car at approximately 1:45 am. The bicyclist was hit by a 19-year-old man from Lincoln who was operating a Chevy Impala.

The bicyclist was allegedly not wearing reflective clothing at the time of the collision and sustained life-threatening injuries.

The road was reopened at approximately 6:25 AM. No further details about the motor vehicle accident were provided at this time. The motor vehicle accident is currently under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
