Tragic, Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident in Effingham County, Georgia

SPRINGFIELD, GEORGIA - According to an online accident news article posted on wsav.com, a 28-year-old man was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on Old Augusta Road last Wednesday.*

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office stated that they believe the victim was heading to his place of employment prior to the fatal crash.  The Effingham County Sheriff's Office reported that their deputies were dispatched to Old Augusta south of Chimney Road at approximately 1:30 PM.

When the Effingham County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the fatal crash scene, they discovered a wrecked motor vehicle over an embankment.  According to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, the fatal crash likely occurred at around 4:30 AM.  

Additional details about the cause and those involved in the fatal car wreck were not made available at this time.  The motor vehicle accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.  According to the news report, this fatal motor vehicle accident is the sixth in 2022.
