Fatal Car Accident Reported in Bartow County, Georgia

April 20, 2022

GEORGIA -  According to a motor vehicle accident news report published on, the Georgia State Patrol Post 3 Cartersville is currently investigating a motor vehicle accident that took place on Interstate 75 South.*

The crash happened on Mile Marker 305 in Bartow County, Georgia.  The Georgia State Patrol's preliminary investigation states that a Kia Forte, driven by a 29-year-old man, was heading southbound along Interstate 75.

At some point, the 29-year-old driver lost control over his Kia Forte and drove off of the right side of the interstate.  The man's Kia Forte then collided with a tree, and the victim sustained fatal injuries. Georgia State Patrol reported that the accident is still under investigation as troopers determine what caused the fatal accident.

Interstate accidents are often fatal because motor vehicles are traveling at high speeds.  In many interstate accidents, cars travel off the roadway and into trees, medians, or cement dividers.  These incidents typically produce life-threatening injuries and fatalities due to the amount of force placed on the accident victims' bodies.  Traffic and road safety experts have not been able to find solutions that reduce traffic fatalities.  The clearest way to reduce the number of interstate accident deaths and severe injuries is to reduce the speed limits.  Speed kills, and over the past several years, the U.S. Department of Transportation has made several attempts to reduce speed limits and reduce the top speed of trucks weighing 26,000 pounds or more.
