Multiple Vehicle Accident on Calhoun Highway NE in Floyd County, Georgia
GEORGIA - According to an accident news story published on wrganews.com, law enforcement, and emergency medical services were dispatched to a multiple-vehicle accident on Calhoun Highway NE in Floyd County, Georgia.*
The Rome-Floyd Fire Department, Floyd County Police Department, AdventHealth EMS, and the Georgia State Patrol responded to the severe motor vehicle collision. The news report states that when emergency first responders arrived at the scene of the accident, they discovered three motor vehicles involved in the collision.
While the Floyd County Police investigated the accident, traffic on both sides of Calhoun Highway NE was rerouted by the Floyd County Police as they investigated the accident. One of the motor vehicles involved in the accident, a silver Honda Civic, sustained head-on crash damage.
According to 911 dispatcher, the Honda Civic's driver was extricated from their motor vehicle. They were also transported by EMS for medical treatment of accident-related injuries.
The accident report states that a Jeep Wrangler flipped over and onto its side during the accident. According to the 911 dispatcher, the Jeep's driver was originally unresponsive when the first responders arrived at the accident scene. The driver suffered a head laceration and may have sustained other accident-related injuries.
A Ford Mustang was also entangled in the crash, and it sustained some damage to the backside of the motor vehicle.
The accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement. No criminal charges were reported at this time.
