Five People Were Injured in a Severe Car Accident on GA 365
GEORGIA - An accident news article published on nowhabersham.com states that five people were severely injured in a car accident on GA Highway 365.*
According to law enforcement, the accident occurred when a Honda driver turned into the path of an approaching van. The crash sent five people to a local area hospital for treatment of accident-related injuries.
Georgia State Patrol has issued a release of the accident victims' identities. The media release from Georgia State Patrol was delayed since most of the injured are not U.S. citizens. Georgia State Patrol had earlier identified some of the victims including a 55-year-old Alto man.
According to Georgia State Patrol troopers, the 55-year-old male driver was operating a Honda Civic westbound along Crane Mille Road when he tried to cross GA Highway 365. Law enforcement stated that the man failed to yield causing a collision with a Chevrolet van that was carrying four people. The van driver, a 40-year-old man from Norcross, and his passenger were thrown from the van during impact.
Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team and troopers from Post 7 arrived at the accident scene at around 2:50 in the afternoon last Saturday. The Habersham County Emergency Services asked for assistance from both Baldwin and Hall County EMS due to the number of injury victims.
EMS transported three patients from the accident scene in critical medical condition. According to HCES Captain Matt Ruark, two other injury victims sustained severe accident-related injuries. All five of the injury victims were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for medical treatment.
The accident closed down a section of GA Highway 365 Southbound for about two hours, while law enforcement worked the accident. Georgia State Patrol did not release information concerning criminal charges. The crash is currently under investigation.
