Airplane Crash Onto Highway 41 in Cobb County, Georgia
COBB COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an online news report published on 11alive.com, the Kennesaw Police responded to a small airplane crash on Highway 41 in Cobb County, Georgia.*
Law enforcement reports state that only the plane's pilot was inside the plane when it crashed, and he survived the crash. The small plane made an emergency crash landing on the Cobb County highway last Thursday morning, according to police. It is not clear what caused the airplane to crash, but Kennesaw Police posted a photograph on their Facebook page that showed the plane came to a stop along the side of the road following the crash landing.
The pilot reported to police that his plane was experiencing engine problems, and this caused the airplane to go down.
The Cobb DOT reported the crash on Cobb Parkway/Highway 41, which is not far from the Cobb County International Airport. The report states that one lane remained open in both directions, and the rest of the traffic lanes were opened a few hours later. An airplane crash investigation is being handled by the Federal Aviation Administration.
