4-Year-Old Boy Tragically Drowns in Park 83 Apartment Pool Accident
GEORGIA - According to a news report published on people.com, the Roswell Police Department is investigating a tragic drowning accident involving a 4-year-old boy.*
The fatal swimming pool accident occurred at around 8:30 PM last Saturday. According to law enforcement authorities, they received several calls regarding a drowning at an apartment complex community pool, the Roswell Police Department reported. Once law enforcement and EMS arrived at Park 83 Apartments, a 4-year-old boy had been pulled from the apartment pool by family members, and he was not responsive. The Park 83 Apartments are located at 100 Calibre Creek Parkway. Law enforcement officers initiated lifesaving measures until the boy was taken to a local area hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, but detectives stated that preliminary accident information indicates that there was a social gathering taking place at the communal clubhouse next to the pool at the time of the child's drowning. Several other families were attending the social gathering. The family went to look for the boy and discovered the boy was unresponsive and in the pool.
Police stressed the gravity of accidental drowning and that drownings are a leading cause of unintended death for children ages 14 and younger. The drowning is currently under investigation.
