Tragic, Fatal Car Accident on I-75 in Dooly County, Georgia

DOOLY COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to a news report published on 13wmaz.com, one person was tragically killed in a fatal motor vehicle accident in Dooly County, Georgia.*

The fatal crash occurred last Saturday near Mile Marker 109 on I-75 Southbound.  A GDOT West Central Twitter post provided the location and time of the accident.

According to Georgia State Patrol Sergeant Harrison, a preliminary accident investigation reports an 18-wheeler truck broke down in the I-75 emergency lane.  Sergeant Harrison stated that a Hyundai was heading in the middle traffic lane, and a Toyota was heading southbound in the right traffic lane.  The Hyundai driver failed to maintain their traffic lane and collided with the Toyota.

The Hyundai driver then collided with the trailer of an 18-wheeler truck.  The  Hyundai driver sustained fatal accident-related injuries.  He has been identified as a 30-year-old man from Gainesville.  The fatal car accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
