Tragic, Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Moreland Avenue in DeKalb County
DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an online news report published on AJC.com, a motorcyclist was tragically killed in a severe motorcycle accident last Monday morning in DeKalb County, Georgia.*
The report states that a car turned left and was in the path of the motorcyclist. The fatal collision occurred along Moreland Avenue in DeKalb County.
The accident scene investigators' initial report states that a driver turned left into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist causing the motorcycle to collide with the car. The collision tragically killed the motorcyclist, according to the DeKalb Police. The motorcyclist has not been publically identified at this time.
Criminal charges are pending for the car's driver. The driver has not been identified by law enforcement.
The southbound Moreland Avenue traffic lanes were closed at South River Industrial Boulevard as the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office cared for the victim's body. The victim's wrecked motorcycle was seen lying in the southbound traffic lanes.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the motorcycle crash was reported at around 7:30 AM. The motorcycle crash was cleared after 9 AM and is currently under investigation by law enforcement.
