I-285 Northbound Car Accident With Injuries in DeKalb County, Georgia
DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news report published on 11alive.com states that a serious car crash occurred in DeKalb County, Georgia.* The accident shut down all I-285 Northbound traffic lanes at I-85.*
The DeKalb County Police reported that the traffic lane closure was due to a motor vehicle crash, and the agency urged motorists to avoid the accident scene if possible. The interstate's traffic cameras indicated that there were cars stopped by several fire-rescue response trucks. The report states that there were severe accident-related injuries involved in the accident.
It is not clear if motorists on I-285 were able to enter onto I-85 at the interstate interchange or if drivers heading on I-85 Northbound would be able to exit onto I-285. Drivers were directed onto the I-285 Chamblee-Tucker Road exit onto Northcrest Road, onto Buford Highway, and back onto I-285.
The crash is currently under investigation. No criminal charges have been reported at this time. No additional information about the interstate accident has been made public at this time. The DeKalb County Police will likely provide an update concerning the accident investigation at a later time.
