Uber Driver Tragically Killed in Train Collision in Duluth, Georgia
DULUTH, GEORGIA - According to an online news report published on wsbtv.com, a driver for Uber driver was tragically killed in a train accident. The accident report states that the Uber driver's SUV got stuck on the train tracks and was then hit by a train.* One of the SUV's passengers escaped, but the SUV's driver was killed in the collision.
The train accident occurred on Peachtree Street in Duluth in front of the Gwinnett County Public Library.
Cellphone video of the accident purportedly shows the SUV driver starting to cross over the train tracks as the gates and warning lights activated. The driver allegedly tried to perform a U-turn, but his truck got stuck.
The train's impact threw the SUV about a hundred yards away. One witness stated that he knew the SUV and the train were going to collide. The witness also stated that the driver panicked and attempted to escape by making a U-turn, but his truck got stuck. The crash transpired before sunrise last Thursday.
The Duluth Police Department is investigating the fatal train accident. Norfolk Southern train crews finished the day inspecting the train tracks and making necessary repairing. The train tracks were reopened later that day.
