Road Rage Leads to Shootout and Accident in South Fulton County
SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news report posted on wsbtv.com states that police are investigating a serious road rage incident that led to a shootout and car accident by an LA Fitness gym in South Fulton County, Georgia.*
According to the news report, a sedan collided with a light pole during the incident. Police also stated that the road rage incident began at around 12 PM on Old National Highway.
Police said both motor vehicles were heading in the same direction when occupants in one car began shooting at the people riding in the other car. One of the vehicles crashed into the woods, and the driver eluded law enforcement while they searched the wooded area for the driver. Law enforcement investigators stated that they could not identify the other motor vehicle that was involved in the road rage incident. The officers also stated that they could not state who was driving the car.
Eyewitnesses stated that they overheard dozens of shots coming from the area, and they saw smoke in the area of the wrecked motor vehicle. The witnesses also reported to police that they saw a person who was shot in the wrecked car, but law enforcement stated that they were not able to find the gunshot wound victim.
It is not clear to the reporters and police who was injured or how many individuals were involved. The accident and road rage incidents are currently under investigation.
