Tragic, Deadly Car Accident on South Hairston Road in Dekalb County, Georgia
DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to a news report on fox5atlanta.com, the DeKalb County Police are investigating a severe, deadly motor vehicle accident.*
The fatal car accident occurred on S. Hairston Road in Dekalb County, Georgia. The DeKalb County Police released the names of two accident victims who passed away in the wreck. The report states that victims were in a car and their vehicle was hit by another vehicle that was attempting to make a U-turn onto S. Hairston Road.
DeKalb County Police officers reacted to the accident and arrived at the crash scene at around 7:40 in the evening. The location of the crash was S. Hairston Road at Elam Road.
The DeKalb County Police reported that a car flipped over after being hit. A 31-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were transported to a local area hospital. They both tragically passed away at the hospital, according to police. Emergency rescue crews had to extract everyone from the car. A third person in the car survived the crash but sustained injuries. He was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.
The other driver was pulled out of their car by bystanders. He was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
There were no reports of criminal charges being filed at this time. The motor vehicle accident remains under investigation by law enforcement. No additional details were provided at this time.
