Tragic, Fatal DUI Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision in Marietta, Georgia
MARIETTA, GEORGIA - A pedestrian accident news report published on fox5atlanta.com states that the Marietta police reported that a 40-year-old woman was tragically killed by a suspected drunk driver who fled the fatal pedestrian crash scene.*
The news report states that Marietta Police arrested the 34-year-old driver after they discovered the suspect's Dodge Challenger. The hit-and-run driver allegedly drove his car into the parking lot of a hotel located along Northwest Parkway.
Marietta Police stated that the victim was walking along Franklin Gateway, south of Delk Road, at approximately 11:30 PM last Friday when the suspect's car struck her. The suspect then allegedly left the scene of the crash without stopping or reporting the crash.
Law enforcement investigators collected and used evidence at the fatal pedestrian crash scene to ascertain the at-fault vehicle's make and probable model. Law enforcement then located the vehicle and placed the 34-year-old man under arrest for his connection to the deadly hit-and-run. The suspect is facing criminal charges such as DUI and Hit-and-Run, Vehicular Homicide, Driving Without Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Lane. He has been charged and booked into the Cobb County Jail. He was denied bail.
The fatal pedestrian accident is currently under investigation.
