Pregnant Atlanta Woman Shot by Uber Driver in Atlanta, Georgia

Law enforcement officers in Atlanta are searching for the Uber driver who is accused of shooting the pregnant woman. The victim was found by law enforcement in College Park. She sustained gunshot wounds to a leg and her stomach at approximately 10:30 PM last Saturday night. According to the report, the victim delivered her baby at a local hospital. She and her child are in the Intensive Care Unit.
The woman's father stated that his daughter was shot in the stomach twice and once in her thigh. He also noted that his daughter was seven months pregnant at the time of the shooting by the rideshare driver.
The Uber driver allegedly shot her after she and the driver got into an argument during her ride. The victim stated that the driver picked her up in a motor vehicle that did not match the description and color of the car on the Uber app.
According to an Uber spokeswoman, the rideshare company will "assist law enforcement with their investigation." Uber stated that they deactivated the Uber driver's account once they were advised of the incident. Uber also contacted the victim.
Uber does not have a firearms policy. Riders can report incidents or accidents through the app or by contacting Uber's Safety Incident Reporting line. The company states that they have a team of former law enforcement officers who work with police to respond to emergencies.
