Woman dead, second driver injured in crash on I-285 in Clayton County
CLAYTON COUNTY, GEORGIA - According to an accident news report published on fox5atlanta.com, the Clayton County Police Department reported that a woman was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on Interstate-285.*
Another driver involved in the crash was seriously injured and hospitalized. The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that the fatal accident on Interstate 285 shut down all eastbound traffic lanes.
The Clayton County Police Department reported that the victim was discovered dead in the interstate. The injured driver is currently in critical medical condition. The accident report states that one of the vehicles caught on fire at the crash scene.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, emergency crews arrived at the accident scene via Interstate 75. All traffic lanes were eventually re-opened by 10:40 in the morning. Law enforcement officers reported that the crash happened near Old Dixie Road.
The crash is currently under investigation.
