Hit-and-run Bicycle Collision on GA 53 in Plainville, Georgia
GEORGIA - According to an online news report published on northwestgeorgianews.com, the Georgia State Patrol is asking for witnesses to come forward in and provide tips in a severe hit-and-run bicycle crash.
Georgia State Patrol states that the hit-and-run crash occurred on GA 53 in Plainville, Georgia. The cyclist was seriously injured but fortunately survived the crash.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred at around 7:30 in the evening. Georgia State Patrol Post 43 in Calhoun responded to the crash, and they are investigating the hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at GA 53 and Brownlee Mountain Road.
The preliminary crash investigation states that a man riding his bicycle was hit by a motor vehicle. The driver then fled the scene of the crash. The victim was air evacuated to Erlanger and is listed in serious medical condition. A potential description of the motor vehicle that fled the scene is an older "orange cab dump truck with a black bed." The truck may also have white paint splattered on it. The truck was carrying short logs at the time of the collision with the cyclist.
