Wrong-way Driver on Georgia Highway 400 Causes Fatal Accident in Sandy Springs, Georgia
According to an accident news report published on reporternewspapers.net, two drivers were tragically killed in a wrong-way accident in Sandy Springs, Georgia.*
The fatal car accident occurred on Georgia Highway 400. One Sandy Springs resident was tragically killed when her vehicle was struck by a driver who was driving in the wrong direction. The wrong-way driver also hit another motor vehicle by the Roberts Drive overpass.
The news report states that a blue Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 32-year-old man from Clarkston, entered GA 400 Southbound but against the legal flow of traffic. The Sandy Springs Police stated as the wrong-way driver's vehicle traveled in the wrong direction, it collided head-on with a blue Hyundai Sonata driven by a 24-year-old Sandy Springs resident.
Both drivers sustained fatal collision injuries during the head-on collision, and they were tragically pronounced deceased at the accident scene. They were the only occupants in their vehicles.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office and the Sandy Springs Police positively identified both drivers. The Sandy Springs Police Department received several phone calls at 5:30 in the morning concerning a wrong-way driver who was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Georgia 400. As they responded, the calls changed to reports of a motor vehicle crash, the agency said on Facebook.
Traffic Unit Investigators are urging witnesses or those with information to contact their office. The fatal motor vehicle accident is currently under investigation. No further information was provided st this time.
