Tragic, Double Fatal Rear-end Collision in Putnam County, Georgia
EATONTON, GEORGIA - According to an online accident news report published on 13wmaz.com, two men were arrested and allegedly charged following a double fatal collision in Putnam County, Georgia*.
The fatal accident occurred last Sunday night. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills reported that the at-fault driver, a 53-year-old man, was driving his Ford Fusion north along Madison Highway (Georgia Highway 441) when he rear-ended a Honda Accord. The Honda Accord driver, a 33-year-old man, was waiting for traffic to clear to make a turn. Two passengers riding in the backseats of the Honda were tragically killed in the collision. The two drivers were transported to a local area hospital for treatment of accident-related injuries.
Putnam County Sheriff Sills stated that the at-fault driver turned himself into police and has been charged with one count of following too close and two counts of misdemeanor vehicular homicide. The at-fault driver was released on a bail bond. The fatal motor vehicle accident is currently under investigation.
