Severe Dump Truck Accident on I-285 Northbound in DeKalb County, Georgia

DeKalb County, GEORGIA - According to an online news report published on 11alive.com, all  I-285 Northbound traffic lanes from Indian Creek to Covington Highway were closed down after a severe dump truck accident.*  

The accident report states that there was little information about the accident victims and their medical conditions. According to the DeKalb County Police Department, the traffic lanes were eventually reopened. 

The news report states that the 11Alive SkyTracker flew over the accident scene and recorded accident footage. The report states that the accident scene appeared to involve a dump truck, and there was a lot of accident debris spread out across the interstate.

Emergency accident crews and law enforcement worked the accident scene along the interstate. Moreover, a fuel spill from the truck was cleaned up. According to the DeKalb County Police Department, the driver was injured but was expected to survive the crash. The accident investigation is ongoing. No further information was provided at this time.
