Drunk Driver Accident Kills Unborn Baby and Injures Mother in Morrow, Georgia

MORROW, GEORGIA - A news report published on WSBTV.com states that the Morrow Police is currently investigating a severe drunk driving car accident that killed an unborn baby and injured its mother.*

The car crash occurred in Morrow, Georgia. The mother is currently in critical medical condition. According to law enforcement, the at-fault driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. 

Morrow Police stated that their officers responded to a severe car accident along Jonesboro Road at approximately 2:30 AM. The officers stated that a 32-year-old man from Morrow was driving southbound in his Ford F150 pickup truck. The victim, a 19-year-old from Forest Park was heading westbound along Lake Harbin Road. The victim and their 19-year-old passenger attempted to cross Jonesboro Road in a Chevrolet Cruise. Police reported that the suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol and crashed into the victim's car when they failed to stop for a red light.

The victim was seven months pregnant. Tragically, her unborn baby was tragically killed in the accident.  

The suspect was arrested at the scene of the accident and has been allegedly charged with first-degree vehicular feticide, driving under the influence, failure to obey a traffic control device, and serious injury by vehicle. He is being held at the Clayton County Sheriff's Office Jail, and more criminal charges are possible.
