Severe Dump Truck Accident in DeKalb County, Georgia

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - According to an online news article published on 11alive.com, a woman was involved in a severe accident with a dump truck in DeKalb County, Georgia.*

According to the DeKalb County Fire Department, her vehicle was so severely damaged that she was entrapped within her vehicle.  The department stated that the crash occurred on South Deshon Road and Rogers Lake Road at around one in the afternoon. 

The news report states that the 11Alive SkyTracker revealed the dump truck was on top of the woman's vehicle and firefighters were at work trying to extract her from her vehicle.

DeKalb County Fire Captain Jaeson Daniels reported that rescue crews worked to safely rescue the woman.  According to Daniels, the dump truck on top of the victim's car had to be lifted away from the crash to make sure rescuers remained safe.  Captain Daniels stated that the victim was trapped upside down underneath the dashboard. 

The woman was air-evacuated to a local area hospital due to the severity of her injuries.  

Law enforcement officers are trying to determine which driver caused the severe crash.  The crash is currently under investigation by law enforcement.  No further details were provided.
