Pedestrian Tragically Struck and Killed Along Canton Highway in Forsyth County, Georgia

FORSYTH COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news article published on forsythnews.com reports that a section of Canton Highway was shut down following a tragic, fatal pedestrian crash on the highway last Friday night.*

According to Forsyth County Coroner Paul Holbrook, the death was sadly confirmed. Coroner Holbrook stated that the incident is currently being investigated jointly by his office, the Cumming Police Department, and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Canton Highway was closed between North Corners Parkway and Almon C. Hill Drive and expected to stay shut down for between two to three hours, according to the Cumming Police's Facebook post. Canton Highway was reopened at around 11:40 in the evening. 

The fatal accident is currently under investigation. No additional details about the driver of the motor vehicle were released. The fatal pedestrian crashes are a growing problem in the State of Georgia.
