Cyclist Struck and Killed on North Valdosta Road in Valdosta, Georgia

VALDOSTA, GEORGIA - A news report published on states that a 75-year-old cyclist was tragically struck and killed in a car-pedestrian collision.*

According to the Valdosta Police Department, the department's officers answered a call to an early evening crash on North Valdosta Road.  

The news report states a 911 caller reported a bicycle rider was struck by a car.  One witness stated that the cyclist may have turned into traffic.  However, the Valdosta Police Department is investigating the cause of the fatal collision. No criminal charges have been filed in the incident.

Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Sabrina Smith stated that their thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family and those involved in the incident.
