Man in Wheelchair Tragically Struck and Killed by a Vehicle in Hiram, Georgia

HIRAM, GEORGIA - A news article posted on fox5atlanta.com reports that a man in a wheelchair was tragically killed when trying to cross the street.*

The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the fatal pedestrian accident in Hiram, Georgia.  One accident witness stated that a few people attempted to help the man cross the street.  

A witness stated that the Highway 278 and Pace Road intersection is very busy.  The witness stated that she witnessed the the man trying to cross the street.  Tragically, the light changed before the man reached the other side and he was hit. 

The Georgia State Patrol reported that the accident happened at approximately 8 PM.  The witness stated that a man in another vehicle stopped to assist the victim.  

The Hiram Police Chief stated that his police officers closed down the area while the Georgia State Police began their investigation.  The victim's family was notified about the tragedy.  There have been no criminal charges filed in the accident.
