Tragic, Fatal Boating Accident Kills Two People on Lake Tobesofkee in Macon, Georgia
MACON, GEORGIA - A news report published on 13wmaz.com states that law enforcement has placed two men under arrest following a fatal boating crash on Lake Tobesofkee.*
A third suspect is wanted by law enforcement. According to criminal arrest records, the two men were were arrested by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The men are criminally charged with making false statements to law enforcement and hindering apprehension. The men are being held without bond.
A third suspect, a 57-year-oldman from Macon, is also wanted by law enforcement. He has been charged with one count of boating under the influence, two counts of homicide by vessel, one count of reckless operation. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources stated that the man has fled the state.
According to the news report, the boat crash occurred on Sandy Beach at Lake Tobesofkee. Georgia game wardens reported that a cigarette boat collided with a pontoon boat that had seven people aboard. Two of the seven victims were taken to the Medical Center, Atrium Health Navicent. They sustained skull fractures.
