Hit-and-Run Collision in Mt. Carmel, Illinois
MT. CARMEL, ILLINOIS - A news article posted on 14news.com reports that the Mt. Carmel Police Department is currently searching for a man who collided with several other motor vehicles before fleeing the scene.*
Law enforcement officers report that a man was operating a black Ford F350 and crashed into three other motor vehicles at Market Street and Ninth Street last Saturday afternoon.
According to the Mt. Carmel Police Department, the Fold Pickup truck broke down and the suspect jumped out of the pickup truck and began to run from the scene. Police officers later found out that the pickup truck was reported stolen. The officers reported that at least three people were injured in the collision and were transported to a local area hospital.
The Mt. Carmel Police Department later obtained information that the suspect had been given a ride to Princeton, Indiana. The information provided also divuldged that the suspect was dropped off in the Burger King. The officers are still searching for the suspect at this time.
All of the accident victims were released from the hospital. The news article posted a photo of the suspect. The Mt. Carmel Police Department is asking for witnesses with information to come forward.
