Driver Charged After Causing a Rollover Accident with Injuries
GEORGIA - A news story published on nowhabersham.com states that the Georgia State Patrol arrested and charged a driver from Lula after he caused a rollover wreck.*
The report states that the charged driver allegedly struck another vehicle from the rear. According to the news article, the at-fault driver was driving a Ford Mustang northbound along Cornelia Highway when the Mustang rear-ended a GMC Yukon. The Yukon then ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, flipped over, and then stopped on its roof.
The Yukon driver, a 61-year-old man, and an occupant, a 59-year-old woman, sustained accident-related injuries. The EMS treated accident victims at the scene of the collision.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the 30-year-old driver of the Ford Mustang was unconscious as emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the accident. According to a report, the EMS took him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. He sustained non-life-threatening accident injuries.
Georgia State Patrol troopers from Post 6 in Gainesville are handling the accident investigation. The Ford Mustang driver has been allegedly charged with DUI of drugs – less safe, following too closely, and failure to maintain lane. The crash is currently under investigation.
