Florida Fisherman Tragically Dies in a Boating Accident in Claiborne County, Tennessee
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - A news article published on wate.com reports that a man from Florida was tragically killed in an early morning boating accident in Claiborne County, Tennessee.*
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency stated that the victim was a 75-year-old man from White Springs, Florida. The victim was discovered by a Norfolk Southern railroad worker at approximately 10:45 in the morning by a railroad bridge on the Big Sycamore Creek.
A Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officer reported that the man's boat may have hit one bridge support that was out of the water and then struck another bridge support. The boat then likely capsized and threw the victim from the boat. He was not wearing a personal floatation device at the time of the accident and tragically passed away. The fatal boating accident is currently under investigation.
