Tragic Train-SUV Accident in Monroe County, Georgia

MONROE COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news report published on 13wmaz.com states that three people were tragically killed in a train accident in Monroe County, Georgia.*

One of the three victims was attempting to help an SUV that was stuck on the train tracks.  The report states that two men who were working on a nearby house witnessed an SUV get stuck on the train tracks.  The men heard an approaching train and raced to assist the people in the SUV.  

The men discovered a 93-year-old woman and her 66-year-old caregiver in the SUV.  A few moments later, the train hit the SUV, killing one of the men and the two women inside the SUV. 

According to the other man, the victim saw the vehicle get stuck and instantly ran to offer assistance.  The victim tried to get the women out of the SUV safely.  However, the train was too close, and the train struck the vehicle and victims. 

The victim is known for his bravery and willingness to render aid to those in need.  The fatal train collision is currently under investigation by local law enforcement officials.  No further information was provided at this time.
