Four Tragically Killed in a Small Airplane Accident on Beaver Island

CHARLEVOIX COUNTY - According to an online news story published on yahoo.com, four people were tragically killed, and a child is listed in critical medical condition after they were involved in a a small airplane accident.*  The plane crash occurred on Beaver Island in Michigan.  

According to the news report, the plane crash occurred last Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:30.  The report states that the airplane collision resulted in the tragic fatalities of the pilot and three other occupants, the Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office stated.

The pilot's identity was not made public.  After the accident, the Coast Guard that serves the region reported that a man and the child were taken to a local area hospital in Petoskey.  Tragically, the man was pronounced dead, the Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the airplane accident.  The reason why the plane went down is not known at this time.
