Ex-Raider Allegedly Causes Fatal Accident While Under the Influence in Las Vegas, Nevada

November 03, 2021

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - A news report published on reviewjournal.com states that an ex-Raider was allegedly driving under the influence and caused a fatal crash in Law Vegas, Nevada.*

The driver will face a judge this morning, and he will face felony criminal charges related to a severe accident that tragically killed a 23-year-old woman.

The driver sustained injuries in the accident but was discharged from a local area hospital later that day.  He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on criminal charges of reckless driving, and DUI resulting in death.  He is set to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court on Wednesday.

The Raiders announced on its Twitter account that the player was released from the team.

Although the Metropolitan Police Department did not publish specific information about the DUI case, they stated that the driver "showed signs of impairment" at the site of the crash.  The Law Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that the crash transpired at around 3:40 in the morning. The report states that the former pro football player was speeding along Rainbow Boulevard in his new Chevrolet Corvette.  His girlfriend was riding as a passenger.  As the Corvette entered the Spring Valley Parkway intersection, the car swerved into the right lane and rear-ended a Toyota RAV4. Upon impact, the SUV then exploded into flames and trapped the driver inside.

The victim, a woman from Las Vegas, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, the victim's name will be released after the victim's relatives have been notified.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson stated to the Review-Journal that the investigation is ongoing.

The NFL and the Raiders organization offered their condolences to the victim's family.

A resident in the area heard a loud crash and called 911.  The witness stated that he called 911 at approximately 3:38 in the morning.  He stated that it was too dark to see the accident from his residence.  The witness then went into his backyard and saw the Honda on fire.  He also reported hearing a woman screaming for help over some loud music from the Corvette.

The tragic, fatal accident is currently under investigation.
