Tragic, Fatal Car Accident Highway 247 in Houston County, Georgia

HOUSTON COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news article published on wgxa.tv reports that a fatal accident on Highway 247 shut down all northbound traffic lanes for several hours.*

According to the news report, the accident occurred near Elberta Road.  The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that the fatal accident would not be cleared until at least 1:15 PM.  All motorists in the area were rerouted around the accident. 

The motor vehicle accident is under investigation.  No additional information about the crash and those involved were released at this time.  The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.  No criminal charges were reported.
