Tragic, Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on SR-44 in Lake County, Florida
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news report published on clickorlando.com states that a 39-year-old woman from DeLand was tragically killed in a three-vehicle accident.*
Two other motorists sustained minor injuries in the accident that shut down State Road 44 in Lake County, Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened at approximately 3:20 in the afternoon. The accident report states that the multi-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of S.R. 44 and Misty Lane.
According to the accident report, a 77-year-old woman was heading eastbound along on S.R. 44 when her SUV collided with a car that was stopped. The Florida Highway Patrol accident report stated that the car then "spun out of control into the west lanes" and then collided with a pickup truck.
The driver of the car tragically passed away at the accident scene. The two other drivers sustained accident-related injuries. All of the drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The severe accident is currently under investigation.
