Motorcyclist Tragically Killed in a Collision with an Amazon Delivery Van

MYAKKA CITY, FLORIDA - A news report published on bradenton.com states that a 41-year-old man from Myakka City was tragically killed in an accident with an Amazon package delivery van.*

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the moment of the accident.

The motorcyclist was traveling southbound along MJ Road, while the Amazon delivery van was traveling northbound along MJ Road.  The news article states that the Amazon delivery van attempted to turn left into a driveway, crossing in front of the motorcycle.  The motorcyclist was unable to avoid the collision, and it crashed into the Amazon van's side.  The victim was tragically declared dead at the accident scene.

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Kenneth Watson stated that no criminal charges are expected at this time, but that could change.

The Amazon van was a Hertz box van that was contracted by Amazon and was used to deliver packages. The 32-year-old Amazon van driver did not sustain injuries. The fatal motorcycle accident is currently under investigation.
